Maud welcomed Stonehaven in a vital league match with the visitors only 3 points ahead of Maud in the League table. The visitors started well earning 3 corners in quick succession, but all came to nothing. A quick free kick for Maud let in Fraser try a shot but went well wide. Play went from end to end but neither side could find an opening. Hive had 2 shots on goal with a minute but both were fired wide of the goals. Fraser & Norris combined well on the left, but the final cross found no talkers in the middle. Just before half tome Crisp drove from his own box and his through ball found Smart whose first touch was poor and fired wide.

HT 0 - 0

The away side went close when Robertson fired a free kick round the wall but past the post. Maud went in front on 55 minutes when a brilliant long ball pass by Crisp to Fraser whose first touch was excellent and his finish even better to scorer the opening goal. Stonehaven had loud shouts for a penalty was waived aside by the referee. A smart shot went close then the away keeper got lucky when Smart closed down his kick and was a bit fortunate it rebounded wide. A well worked move from Haven was ended with a fine tackle by Thornton. Andrews was called into action making a fine save from a volley by Shand. Walker should have done better with his shot after fine work by Norris and R Thomson on the right. Substitute Mackie could have put the points to bed the away keeper was quick off his line to block. Last action of the match was in the home box with Crisp with a fantastic block from a shot from the hive striker. The match ended and a hard-working performance from the home side netting 3 vital points.  From Keeper Andrews right throughout the team, they never stopped working till the final whistle.

Maud next game is on Saturday 6 April at Home v Banks O Dee in the Superleague 2pm ko.
