Maud travelled to face Stonehaven in a league game and the away side had the first chance when Lawson headed over from a Smith corner. A quick break by Hive ended with a fine save frim Fyfe. Reid was next to test Fyfe but the keeper came out on top. Duguid went close with a shot from a fine through ball from Whyte. Stark in the home goal then produced a magnificent save from a Smith freekick. The home side were denied a clear cut penalty by the official. From a Smith cross Ritchie stabbed it goalwards but Stark managed to push round the post. keeper Fyfe and some good blocks kept the first half goalless.

The home side pressed forward and Fyfe was again in action blocking a header from Smith. The home side went in front when a through ball to Reid who was about 5 yards offside went onto score. Duguid has a shot but straight at Stark. A brilluant whipped in freekick from Whyte was met by Duguid but he fired it high. Maud were then reduced to 10 men after defender Lawson caught the ball on the half way line as he heard a whistle but after consulting his linesman Lawson was sent off. Fyfe made another 2 fine saves fom Reid and Coyle near the end. The match ended in frustration for the visitors being on the wrong side of some strange decisions from the officials
