Maud welcomed Spey Valley United in the Scottish cup and the home side earned a corner through Duguid and from the corner Lawson saw his header blocked by Gray. The home side went in front when they were awarded a penalty for a hand ball which Duguid converted when he sent the keeper the wrong way. Lawson came close to doubling the home side lead when his header came back off the bar. The visitors first real attack saw them draw level when a speculate shot from outside the box from Shields found the bottom corner past Fyfe. Gavin Hay did well to set up Shields whose looping shot went close. The home side went back in front when a cross from Still was met by Duguid to side foot home. A Wilson shot was well dealt with by Donaldson then Downie brought a fine save by Donaldson tipping on to the post from a Wilson cross. Just on half time Still should have scored a third but his shot went inches wide of the post.

FT 2 – 1

Goal of the game came from Maud in the 46th minute with a brilliant 20 yard strike from Gary Davidson flying past the diving Donaldson into the bottom corner. Donaldson did well to palm clear a cross after some good work by Duguid. An Andrew Hay wasted a chance firing well wide from a good position. Duguid scored his third and Maud's fourth when he turned his marker on the edge of the box and found the corner of the net. The visitors did have the ball in the net but was ruled off for handball. The away side were then awarded a penalty which Fyfe made a fine save form Gavin Hay. Maud scored a fifth goal after a Smart header from a Smith cross was brilliantly saved by Donaldson but Davidson was first to react and head home. Smith had the last chance but shot straight at Fyfe. In the end it was a comfortable win for the home side.

Maud next fixture is on Saturday 29 October away to Dyce in the McBookie.com Superleague with a 2pm KO
