Maud faced Nairn St Nairn in a league match and for the first 5 minutes Maud started well and won a free kick on the left touch line which Was over hit by Chicken. At the other end the visitors first attack gave them the lead with a strong shot by MacLeod. Thomson did some great work on the right and his cross found Conway whose shot was well saved by Wilkie. Conway was in action again with his shot going narrowly wide. A poor header back from Crisp let the visitors and MacLeod to double their lead. MacLeod rounded off a perfect half when he netted his hatrick with a simple finish from 6 yards out after Ritchie had made a smart save. Conway pulled a goal back after a Crisp shot was parried into the path of Conway to rifle home. Nairn had a fourth goal chalked off for offside.

HT 1– 3

A strange start to the second half came when one lineman couldn’t continue, they eventually got started after 18 minutes for Maud to put a lines person on the far side Maud came out strong in the second half and pinned Nairn in their own half. Wilkie got down low to his left to make a brilliant save from a Robertson drive. Maud drove forward and some slick passing involving 6 players resulted in another Wilkie save. The pressure finally told when Quantrill first time shot found the net after a fine through ball from Park. Ritchie kept Maud in with a chance after he saved from Mulligan. Chicken earned Maud a corner which Conway swung across and it need a further save from Wilkie when it looked like fining the top corner of the net. A final chance came when Robertson played in Conway on the right but Wilkie was out quick to block. A much improved second period for Maud who deserved a share of the points but not to be. Maud now travel away to Colony Park next Sat 26 October in the McBookie.Com Superleague 2pm ko
