Maud finally got back into action after a long layoff and they travelled to face Montrose Roselea with new Management in place but with a host of players missing, this was going to be a tough match. Maud had the first chance when Mair drove forward from the halfway line, but his shot was straight at the home goalkeeper.
Mitchell cut in and his floated effort in 6 mins which was easily held by Richie then Beedie had a low shot which he pulled wide of the post. Roselea went in front on 14 mins when Mitchell’s early cross was there for the taking and Stephen headed home from 6 yards.
Maud had a chance as Walker found space on the right but shot off target. It was to be 2-0 Roselea in 23 mins. Ross Mitchell again got past his man and crossed for Connor Mitchel to half volley home from 6 yards. A minute later Stephen almost made it 3 but Ritchie saved from a Taylor shot.
On 33 mins a third goal came when a Thomson shot was deflected past Richie. 39 minutes gone and a fourth goal came when a well-timed run by Beedie saw him latch on to the ball and after selling the defender a dummy finished perfectly from 12 yards. A fifth goal came on half time from Beedie after a good one two with Mitchel.
HT Montrose Roselea 5 Maud 0
Maud started better in the second half and Joji could have done better with his shot after if fell into his path from a poor ball by Beedie. From a Mitchel cross Stephen rose high but his header was off target. The home keeper did well to hold a shot from Joji. Robertson wasted a good chance after Terrell floated a great ball over the top, but his lob went just wide of the post.
Joji was Maud’s best player on the day and had a physical presence however the Roselea defence handled him well. The home side finished the scoring with a sixth goal near the end of the game when Beedie played Stephen in and the home striker made no mistake with his finish.
