Maud kicked off against Montrose Roselea on a wet and windy day and for the first 15 minutes both defences were on top then Maud broke from inside their own half with Lowden, Humenuik then Joji whose shot was straight at the keeper. Montrose Taylor tried a shot from distance which went high over the bar then at the other end Mair drove past 3 players firing his shot wide. Quantrill on the right cut inside his marker and it needed a good save by the visitor’s keeper. Stainton and Crisp made 2 good challenges to keep the score goalless. 18 should have done better when he met a cross from Robertson at the back post which skidded past the post.

HT 0 – 0

The second half started with Montrose earning a free kick 20 yards out taken by Taylor which was sent high and wide. Montrose took control when a through ball through the Maud defence, Robertson latched onto it and his cross found Connor Mitchell unmarked to score with a simple finish. Maud replied when McGinley was sent clear but took too long getting his shot away giving the defender back to block. Mitchell shot from distance brought a save from Fyfe in the home goals. Maud then changed two with Duff and Walker replacing Humenuik and McGinley. This gave the home side a lift and a good move involving Walker laid off to Wood whose cross was headed over by Duff. Minutes later a dangerous cross by Duff was well defended. The match ended with another defeat but are beginning to play some good football and were unluck not to get anything from the game today.

Maud now travel to face Banks O Dee on Saturday 7 September in the Dominoes PIZZA NORTH REGIONAL CUP 19-20 - FIRST ROUND
