On a hot sunny day Maud travelled to Keith to face Islavale with a Semi Final place up for grabs. The home side were first on the attack and it needed a fine tackle by Simpson to clear the danger. Home keeper Moir made a mistake but he made amends when he saved from a Smart header from a Ritchie cross. From a Wilson cross Smart headed wide from 6 yards. Good closing down by Smart on Keeper Moir whose punch out fell to Ritchie who shot wide. Lawson missed a great chance to put Maud in front but headed wide from a Wilson cross. Sim and Milne combined to create an opening for the home side but a poor shot by the latter was easily saved by Fyfe. A break by Reid who played some neat passing with Ritchie but the final pass was just too long for Ritchie to get a shot on target.

                         HT 0- 0

Into the second half and the home keeper was quickly in action from a Lawson deflected shot from a Wilson cross tipping on to the crossbar and over. A break by the pacey Sim on the right whose cross to the back post was well defended by Sculley under pressure. A Sculley cross found Whyte unmarked inside the box but he blazed his shot high. Maud took the lead 10 minutes into the second half with a long ball forward was latched on to by Smart who did well to hold off the defender before slotting past the out coming Moir.     Blackwell wasted a good chance from a Dey cross heading past the post. Smith went on a mazy run into the Vale box but took too many touches which left Moir with an easy save. Substitute Still went close to doubling the away side lead with a shot from inside the box. The home side pressed in the end with long balls into the away box but the Maud defence stood firm and gained their place in the last 4. Lawson and Simpson marshalled the defence well throughout the game.
