Maud started on the front foot with a shot from Hale pushed out for a corner which was cleared up field. Fyfe got down low to his left to save from Corbett. The home side went in front on their next attack when a drive from Hale found the bottom corner. From corner Elder made a point blank save From a Duguid shot. At the other end City broke up field and Corbett was unlcky when his shot hit the crossbar. Elder could only fist away a powerful shot from Cooper. McDonald had the best chance of the first half for the visitors but he shot wide from close range.

The away side started the second half were but were gifted the equalizing goal when
come shot curled over the stationary Fyfe in the home goal.
Inverness took control of the game when Corbett combined with McDonald whose cross was tapped in by Eadie. Murdoch nearly put City further in front but his free kick
went through a ruck of players and also past the post. The same player dragged another shot wide of the goal from a good position. This was a game of two halves with the home
side wasting some first half chances and the second half City were far better and took their chances well.
