Maud faced Inverness in a vital league match and Maud came close to taking the lead with a cross from Wilson which Smart controlled brilliantly but his final shot went wide. Fuller came close to giving the away side the lead but saw his cross being deflected onto the bar by Lawson. Beattie made a fine save from a shot from Smart. A weavy run by Smith ended with Beattie getting down low to his right to parry with Smart netting the rebound but it was ruled for offside. A fine first time pass from Thomson left Smart in on goal but Beattie was off his line to block. Minutes before half time let in McPhee to fire home from 6 yards.

HT 0 - 1

Maud drew level early in the second half when a free kick was floated into the City box which Beattie could only half clear and it fell to Wilson to side foot home. Smith missed a glorious chance to put Maud in front but wasted the chance firing high over the bar. A break by Inverness saw them take the lead again with McPhee going past 2 defenders before scoring. Crisp should have levelled the score but saw his shot rattle the cross bar from 12 yards. A great ball along the 6 yard box by Smith found no takers in the middle. A through ball found Ritchie in on goal and he calmly slotted home. A long ball forward on the right which Fyfe tried to let the ball run out for a goal kick but miss judged it and left McPhee to fire home his third of the game from a very tight angle. This was another poor performance from the home side who continue to throw games away. Inverness deserved their win by taking their chances well.

Maud next game is at away v Deveronside on Sat 22 April in the Superleague with a 2 pm KO
