Subs: Norris, Simpson, Ritchie, Bain (T)

Maud travelled to face Inverness City and once more were missing a host of players through many reasons. Maud started well and were dominating the game.  A Hale shot was saved before a header went close. The home side went in front when a free kick was played down the left and his cross was headed against the bar and the city midfielder had a simple header.  Hale and Duguid both had shots go wide of the goals. Trialist Clark came close with a header then at the other end he made a superb tackle to prevent the Ct striker a free shot on goal.                                              HT 1 – 0

Maud camped in the City half for the first 12 minutes of the second half and the closest they came was a shot from striker Duguid coming back off the post. Clark played in Bremner, but he lashed high and wide. City keeper had a comfortable saved from a Sargent header. Bremner brought another save from the home keeper at the expense of another corner which came to nothing. The Maud pressure finally paid off when a Long ball over the City defence by keeper Fyffe was latched onto by Duguid who clinically dispatched past the diving keeper. Sargent had a curling shot just wide of the post then a Hale shot was turned around the post for a corner. Maud got the deserved winner with 2 minutes remaining when a quick ball out to the left to Sargent whose first-time cross was met by Hale to net the winning goal.

FT 1 – 2

Maud next fixture is on Saturday 24 February home against Dyce Juniors in the Superleague 2pm ko.
