Maud faced Stonehaven in a match that the home side need to win by 2 goals to go through to the Quarter Finals of the Grill League Cup. Robertson in the away goal was first in action turning a Smart shot round the post. A Smith shot was well wide after some good hold up play by Still. On the break a Shand shot went close then at the other end Smart brought another save from Robertson. Thomson then sent up Still who forced Robertson into a smart save. Robertson made a fine save from a Thomson shot which was dipping under the bar from 25 yards. From the resulting corner Maud went in front when Wilson swung the corner to the back post where Simpson's header found the net.

                              HT 1 – 0

At the start of the second half Smith ran from the half way line and his shot was palmed round the post by Flinn. Shand went close with a shot from the right of the Maud 18 yard box. Maud had a lucky escape when a shot was brilliantly blocked on the line by Whyte and it rebounded to Wyness whose shot hit the underside of the bar and then cleared. Smart was played in on the left but the visiting keeper made a good block. Smart did have the ball in the net but was ruled offside. The visitors wasted a golden chance to level the game when a cross to the back post where the unmarked striker header over from 6 yards. Maud doubled their lead from a Reid corner Simpson rose high to head brilliantly back across goal into the top corner of the net. Minutes later Haven broke free with Wyness who was played in on goal and he slotted home. From a corner the ball rebounded to Thomson who saw his shot come back off the bar. Maud hit straight back when Still collected the ball on the edge of the box and he turned his marker and slotted the ball round the keeper and into the net.
