Maud: Fyfe, Anderson, Gill, Crisp, Lawson, Thomson, Fowlie, Ritchie, Hale, Duguid, Norris

Subs: Hall, Downie, Stuart, Mair

Maud welcomed Stonehaven to Pleasure Park in a league match and the home side started well and a Fowlie shot hit the side netting from a Norris cross. Reid shot went through the Maud defence but also past the post. A Gill shot was deflected for a corner which came to nothing. Start got down well to block a drive from Duguid. The away side were gifted a goal when a throw in went back to keeper Fyfe who swiped at the ball and missed leaving Anderson an open goal to score. Fyfe made a vital save when Armstrong was in on goal then Maud’s next attack saw them level with a well taken goal from Scott Fowlie. The Hive were then gifted another chance when a Lawson back pass was well short leaving Armstrong to slot past Fyfe. From a corner Maud drew level with Fowlie stabbing the ball home from 6 yards.

HT 2 - 2

At the start of the second half Maud made a change with Stuart replacing Anderson. Hive substitute Mackie should have given them the lead but for a fine double save from Fyfe in the home goals. Shand cut in from the left but his shot went well over the bar. Maud went close when a Duguid header hit the top of the bar from a corner by Hale. Maud went in front when a Gill shot from 12 yards took a small deflection in past the diving Stark.  The visitors went on to score direct from a free kick 40 yards out went through a ruck of players and into the corner off the net then the winner came from the head of Mackie from a Shand ball into the box.

Maud will have to defend a little better next week if they are to have any chance of progressing in the Scottish Junior Cup. They travel to face Gartcairn a team from Airdrie who play in the Central District Second Division 1.45 pm ko
