Maud: Ritchie, Walker, Lowden, Stainton, Crisp, Youngson, Ritchie, Chicken, Joji, Mair, Duff

Maud travelled to face Hermes with a few changes due to injury, but Maud started brightly and Joji went close with a header from a Lowden throw in. Stevenson went close with a shot from 12 yards. Brown brought a good save from Ritchie after getting the better of Crisp inside the Maud box. Maud were dealt a blow after a challenge with Hermes striker and Maud keeper saw Ritchie carried off and Mair going in goals. From a corner Mair did well to palm out but the ball fell to the deadly Lee Smith to fire in the opening goal. A Maud break saw Joji go down the left and cut in only for huis shot to shave the outside of the post. Mair made a good save from an Innes shot which was heading for the top corner. A minute later Mair came to the rescue with a stop with his feet when Innes tried to squeeze the ball in at the front post

HT 1 – 0

The second half started with a good passing move ended with a poor effort by Stevenson. From a corner Dawson headed on and it left Close with a simple finish to double the home side lead. Close and Stevenson exchanged passes before Close fired over from inside the box. McGinley and Goodlad replaced joji and Youngson. Mair did well to save from a deflected shot by Mitchell. Begg wasted a great chance to add to the home side lead when he had only the keeper to beat, his shot was wild and high. Maud were finding it hard going in the second half and only chance they had was at the end of the match with a volley from Robertson went close. A good first half but faded in the second and in the end a comfortable win for Hermes.

Maud now play host to Montrose Roselea on Saturday 31 August in the Super league 2pm ko
