Five minutes before half time a rash tackle inside the Maud box resulted in a penalty for Hermes which was fired in by Winton.

  HT 1 – 2

Maud came out fighting pinning Hermes back earning 2 corners, but both came to nothing. Maud were forced into a substitute when Kennedy had to be replaced by Norris after a rash tackle by the Hermes midfield. A long ball down the left was collected by Sargent who cut in and his near post shot was fumbled by Sweeney, but his centre half cleared off the line. At the other end a corner was cleared as far as Gordon whose volley was well off target. Sweeney dealt comfortably from a Thomson free kick from 18 yards. A long ball forward by Fyfe to Conway who just failed to get enough on the ball as Sweeney came out to clear. A shot come cross by Whyte was tipped over the bar by Sweeney. Hermes sealed their place in the final after good work on the right by Gordon and his first time cross was met by Smith who gave Fyfe no chance with his header.
