Maud had Hall Russell United in a league match and the away side had a strong wind behind them in the first half but it was the home side that had the first chance with a free kick by Wilson going narrowly over the bar from 20 yards. Fyfe had two good saves both from number 10. The away side went in front when keeper Fyfe slipped when advancing towards the ball and Esslement headed over the keeper into the empty net. The away side doubled their lead when a fine cross by Cheyne to the back post where the unmarked Esslement headed home. Just before half time Smart had a good chance but his deflected shot went straight into the arms of the away keeper hands.
HT 0 - 2
Maud made a change at the start of the second half with Smart being replaced by Falconer. Within a few minutes the home pulled a goal back when Lawson headed home from a Wilson cross. Soon the home side were level with Wilson again being the provider with a cross for defender Crisp to head home. The home side were well on top now and took the lead When Ritchie set up Jordan Smith who smashed the ball into the top corner of the net from 20 yards. The away side broke quick and a brilliant cross by Cheyne was controlled by McDonald and he dinked it over the out rushing Fyfe to level the game. Maud were then reduced to 10 men when Thomson received a second yellow. Both teams pushed forward looking for a winner but neither side created any more chances and it ended all square.
