Maud faced Forres with several changes this week again due to injuries. The home side started well earning 2 free kicks on the edge of the box, the first one well saved, and second one saw Hale shot come back off the crossbar. Maud went in front when Mair set up young Ross Grant to fire home from 20 yards, his first for Maud. Sargent shot straight at Mcleod in the Forres goal. Maud were reduced to 10 men after Crisp was sent off for a rash tackle. This gave the away side a lift and they drew level when a Leslie freekick came back of the bar, Fraser was first to react to tap home then a shot from Leslie was deflected into the path of Moir who finished well. Just on half time Hale was fouled inside the box. Norris tucked away the penalty well.

  HT 2 – 2.

Maud were back in front when a Norris shot was well finished. The next attack saw Hale finish from 18 yards from a first time cross from Sergant. The 2 players reversed places when a Hale cross was finished off at the back post by Sargent. Forres pulled one back when a Fraser cross was tapped in by Moir. Norris then grabbed his hatrick sliding in at the back post. Forres scored at 4th goal near the end when Hutcheson shot was saved twice by Fyfe but the second rebound went straight to Hutcheson who side footed home. Another good performance by Maud who played a long time with 10 men but the slick passing by Maud always looked like getting them into the next round.

FT 6 –4

Maud next fixture is on Saturday 13 August away v Nairn in the Superleague with a 2pm ko.
