Maud entertained Dyce which games are usually tight and the game was played with strong winds. Maud the wind in the first half and took a while to adjust but they forced a few corners in quick succession but were well defended by Dyce. A scramble in the Dyce box was gathered by Pennycook who played the ball to Dick who played in Shand but Fyfe was quick off his line to clear. Pennycook made a good save and gathered at the second attempt from a Hale shot. Pennycook was again action saving a Duguid free kick. Maud got a break when a cross from Dick was dropped by Fyfe but to fell to a defender to clear. A ball into the feet of Duguid whose sharp turn and shot but wide of the goals. Just on half time Fyfe did well to punch clear when under pressure from the Dyce players.

Maud started the second half with a quick flowing move but an over hit cross by Sergent and the chance was wasted. Another quick passing move ended with a Sergent cut back to Gill whose shot beat the big keeper but also the post. Dyce took the lead when a short pass back by a Maud defender let Esslement in to poke the ball past Fyfe. Dyce nearly doubled their lead when a cross by Dick wind assisted came back off the crossbar. Fyfe managed to tip a strike from McAllister over the bar. The match ended with a win for the visitors but Maud battled hard but failed to create any real cut chances.
