Maud travelled to face 2nd placed Dyce in a league match and the home side created the first chance when poor defending let in Esslement but he shot wide with the goal gapping. Esslement made amends after Fyfe made a fine save but it rebounded to Esslement who stroked home from 8 yards. Maud attacked down the left and a after some good trickery by Norris, his cross was headed wide by Cooper at the back post. Cooper spread the play to the left where Norris controlled and went past 2 defenders but his shot come back off the post. Smart fired in a shot from 20 yards but it was straight at Pennycook in the home goals. Maud levelled when the menacing Norris set up Cooper who’s first time shot found the net. Esslement set up Ross but he fired high. Dyce keeper Pennycook made 2 fantastic saves from Smart and Duguid then a third save from Cooper to keep the score level at half time.

HT 1 - 1

A Hale free kick needed Pennycook to be alert and he tipped over the bar for a corner which came to nothing. A great ball in by Hale was well defended by Bartlet There was a bit of controversial when the Referee produced a red card for keeper Pennycook which brought a stoppage in play and before the restart the home manager was also sent from the side lines. Morrison went in goals. Dyce restarted play and a cross was fumbled by Fyfe which left Ross with a simple tap in goal. Maud hit back to level the game for a second time with a stunning strike from Duguid from 20 yards. Maud pressed forward and earned a couple of quick corners but the Dyce defence stood firm. The game was heading for a draw when up stepped Courtney Cooper with a superb stunning strike from 25 yards which crashed off the bar and went in to the net off stand in keeper Morrison. This was a well-deserved win for Maud with all playing a part in the win.

Maud next match is home against Dufftown on Saturday 11 November with a 2pm ko in the McBookie.com Superleague.
