Maud entertained Colony Park in a vital league match and play was being dominated early by the home side without creating any goal chances. Norris headed over from a Chicken Cross. Mair shot straight at Gray in the away goals from 12 yards. Chicken went close with a shot from a tight angle after a great through ball from Thomson. A poor pass by Hall let McKay a shot at goal but Fyfe saved comfortably. Maud stormed forward, and a good passing move ended with a Thomson shot over the bar. At the other end Fyfe was in action with an easy save from Dorrat. Just before half time Mair went past 3 defenders but shot wide of the goals.

Maud started the second half on the front foot and Smart was played through but Gray came out to block and the chance was gone. Maud earned a couple of corners which were dealt with by the stubborn away defence. Mair and Smart had shots, but both failed to trouble Gray then from a Corner Maud thought they had scored but it was ruled off for a push. A break by Colony set McKay down the right but his shot was well saved by Fyfe. Chicken took a poor freekick and it was cleared by Davidson. Roodie shot from edge of the box was saved at the expenses of a corner by Fyfe, Clark then Lawson cleared. Norris on the left with a good turn and shot straight at Gray. Chicken w.as sent clear but shot wide with just Gray to beat. A Roodie cross come shot was tipped over the bar by Fyfe. With time running out Maud broke to the edge of the Colony box but was tripped by former player Davidson who was red carded. Up stepped Thomson whose free kick curled over the defensive wall and into the top corner of the net with Gray stranded.

This was another good performance and a deserved win on the board for the new Maud management team. Maud now travel to face Dufftown on Saturday 15 December in the McBookie.com Super league 1.30pm ko
