Maud travelled to face Colony Park in a league game and the visitors created the first chance after Norris beat two players and set up a Duguid shot which Gray did well to block. A Norris shot was parried by Gray in the home goal but straight to Sargent who shot wide from 12 yards. Against the run of play the home side were awarded a penalty, up stepped Roddie to fire home the opening goal. Fyfe in the Maud goals did well to tip over the bar a thunderbolt shot by Morrison from distance. A free kick taken by Duguid went just past the post with the keeper stranded. Maud had a let off after a McKay shot was blocked by Fyfe but rebounded to McKay who saw his header cleared off the line by Hall. Norris was played in and he drove into the box but tried to find Duguid in the middle when a shot on goal might have been the better option. Just on half time the home side doubled their lead when Fyfe could only parry a shot and Morrison was first to react and score.

HT 2 – 0

The home side had a great chance to extend their lead when Strachan who looked well offside turn and with only the keeper to beat failed to hit the target. A cross by Smart fell to the Maud winger by Norris failed to hit the target. Maud begun to push the home side back and pulled a goal back when a ball from Sargent was flicked on by Smart into the path of Duguid who slotted home. The visitors again drove forward and were unlucky not to draw level when a Sargent ball across the 6-yard box just too hard for the front men to get on the end of. Gray made a smart save from a header from Duguid which looked like it was going in at the keeper near post. Sargent wasted an excellent chance when he only had Gray to beat his attempted lob went straight into the keeper’s hands. This was a poor performance from the visitors who created enough chances to win the game but failed to convert them.
