Away keeper Ritchie made two comfortable saves from Peter and Clark free kicks. A quick break by Maud with Thomson combining with Walker but the latter took too long to get his shot away letting the defender back to get a block in.

On 8 Minutes Maud went ahead when Masson held the ball up and it fell to Thomson out on the right and his shot come cross ended up in the top corner of the net. Good defending by Stainton prevented Munro getting his shot away at the other end.

Banchory went close with Travers shot coming back of the post with Maud appealing for offside. Clark then tested Ritchie in the away goal which he saved comfortably.

A Lowden header was straight at Salmon from a corner then a Walker cross was just too high for Robertson to get on the end of at the back post. Josh Robertson free kick skimmed the top of the Maud Crossbar then a Thomson free kick 30 yards out had Salmon scrambling across his goal. The same player brought a fine save from Salmon with another free kick.

HT 0 – 1

Maud started the second half on the front foot with Masson up front holding the ball up well feeding Humeniuk on the left who played it into the feet of Masson who turned the defender but Robertson got back in time to make a brilliant block.

Good play by Walker and Thomson with the latter cross being met by Masson whose header was off target. A Stainton rash tackle earned him a caution with the home support calling for a sending off. Robertson for Maud dragged his shot wide from 18 yards after good hold up play by Masson.

From a corner Robertson combined with Bruce who wasted a good chance. The same player went even closer only to see his headed come crashing back of the post.

Maud broke quickly and a Masson through ball split the Banchory defence and Robertson calmly slotted under the out-rushing Salmon in goals to seal the 3 points to the delight of the Maud Committee and supporters.
