Maud travelled the short distance to play Fraserburgh United in a second round cup tie on a very blustery day. A Smart header was well held by Tait in the home goal. Maud went in front after a Ritchie cross was fired in by Smart. A good move by Maud saw then score a second after Smart and Sargent combined for Cooper to strike home at the front post. A first half totally dominated by the away side earned them a third goal when a Hall free kick was driven through a host of players and Crisp had a simple finish at the back post. Tait did well to tip a grant header over the bar. A well timed tackle by Whyte prevented the home side striker Sim getting his shot away from inside the box. Sargent finished well but was ruled offside

HT 0–3

Fraserburgh made 2 changes at half time with Rollo and Maitland coming on. This gave them a lift and they pulled a goal back when Sim had time to control and strike home. The home side pushed forward and got another goal back when a Rollo cross was deflected in to the Maud net off a defender. It was soon all square when Ramsey drove into the Maud box past four Maud players before firing low into the corner of the net. Near the end of the game Maud broke upfield with Smart playing right to Cooper whose shot was deflected wide for a corner which came to nothing. The match ended and went into a penalty shootout with the Home hero being keeper saving the 9th penalty from Crisp.

Maud next fixture is on Saturday 24 November home v East End in the Superleague with a 1.30pm ko
