Maud travelled to Dyce to face Banks o Dee in the Grill League Cup Final. Dee were first to show when Alexander turned Whyte inside the box but Crisp made a vital block as the winger got his shot away. Fyfe was quick off his line to save at the feet of Lennox. At the other end 2 dangerous crosses from Smith were defended well by the Culter defence. Crips made a fine block from a shot by Alexander. Another cross by Smith went right across the 6 yard box but it was missed by everyone. Dee should have taken the lead when a cross by Whyte to the back post where Phillipson somehow managed to head wide from 6 yards. Just before half time Maud had a great chance to go in front when a mistake by the Dee defence left Smart in on goal but his header looped up and as the ball came down Smart managed to get a foot to the ball and played across to Wilson who lost his footing as he tried to get his shot away and the chance was gone.  A Lennox shot went close after he was set up by Hall.

The second half started and Maud went on the front foot with Sculley playing a neat one two with Smith but the defenders shot was a wild one. Maud suffered a cruel blow on 53 minutes when a Winton shot took a wicked deflection and looped over the head of Fyfe to give Dee the lead. Ritchie played a through ball to Smart whose shot was saved at his near post by Shearer. Substitute Falconer went close with a drive from 20 yards. Crisp made a vital block as Lennox tried to get his shot away. A Dee attack ended with Wilson clearing off the goal line for Maud. The injured Maud Sub Falconer was then forced to leave the pitch after picking up an ankle injury. Dee doubled their lead when a ball over the Maud defence was latched on to by Lennox who calmly slotted past the out rushing Fyfe.  Maud keeper Fyfe made a save from a Duguid free kick and then from the same played from a tight angle. The match ended with Dee running out winners but Maud put up a brave fight keeping Dees chances to a minimum in the first half but the deflected goal left Maud chasing the game and were caught out at the back. Well done to Bank O Dee
