Maud travelled to face top side Banks O Dee and due to injury were forced to play 15-year-old Harry Cowie in goals for the first time. Dee earned a free kick on the edge of the Maud box after Stained fouled McLeod. It was taken by Philipson and it brought a fine save by Cowie. Mair did well when he received the ball with his back to the goal’s he managed to get his shot away which had Shearer diving low to his left to save. Poor clearance by Allan fell to Joji and his shot was deflected for a corner which came to nothing. Sheared saved comfortable from a Fraser free kick after good work by Mair. McLeod headed wide from 6 yards then Philipson brought another save from Cowie. Fraser and Quantrill combined with the latter shot was saved by Shearer. Quantrill drover forward by 3 Dee players but his shot was off target. Dee went in front on the stoke of half time when Binnie finished off a cross by Philipson.               HT 1 - 0

Dee started the second half on the front foot when Philipson was played through, Cowie came out to block but ball rebounded to Philipson who lobbed Cowie but over the bar. From a corner Philipson converted scoring through a ruck of players. Maud broke quickly and it needed a good tackle from Masson to prevent Quantrill getting his shot away. Wood came to the rescue for Maud clearing of the line after a shot by Nicholson. Maud went close after Thomson headed into the path of Quantrill whose first time shot had Shearer scampering across his goal. Cowie then made brilliant reaction saves inside 30 seconds. With 10 minutes left Substitute Henderson scored a third then in the dying minutes Dee were awarded a very soft penalty which Henderson converted. The match ended in a defeat, but Maud young ones must take heart going into next weeks home game against Deveronside on Saturday 14 September in the Superleague 2pm ko
