Maud travelled to face League champions Banks O Dee in a league match and it ended with a 4-nil win for Dee and the home side started well controlling the game but were finding Maud a hard team to break down.

Hamilton combined with Armstrong, but the latter shot high then at the other end Masson created a shooting chance for Thomson, but it was a weak one and easily gathered by Shearer.

A Henderson header was straight at Ritchie then Maud keeper was in action again smothering the ball at his near post under pressure from Hall. Maud were frustrating the home side who were caught offside time and time again.

Dee finally broke the deadlock when Henderson latched onto a through ball and rounded keeper Ritchie and side foot home. Minutes later Kane Winton doubled the lead for Dee with a similar goal, a ball over the Maud defence and Winton went past Ritchie to slot home.

HT 2 – 0

Maud started the second half with Marshall on loan from Bridge of Don Thistle crafted a chance for inrushing Thomson who couldn’t get enough on his header to trouble Shearer in the home goals. Maud earned a free kick on the edge of the Dee box was struck well by Kidd and it needed a brilliant save from Shearer diving low to his right to push out for a corner.

Masson who led the Maud attack did well holding off 2 Dee defenders inside the box and it needed a fine save by Shearer to prevent Masson scoring.

Dee’s third goal by Henderson from 20yards was a terrific finish but was harsh on Maud as leading up to the goal a Maud player was blatantly pushed off the ball which led to a Dee goal. was blatantly pushed off the ball which was not seen by the referee.

Dee ended the scoring when substitute Alexander crossed for MacLeod a tap in goal number 4. Ritchie did well saving twice near the end from MacLeod.

Maud put up a spirited performance against a team who have won all their league games this season so far and now move on to a vital game next week at Home to Ellon United in the McBookie.com Superleague on Sat 7th March with a 2pm ko
