Maud travelled to face last season’s league winners Banks O dee which is always a hard fixture and the away side were forced in to a number of changes due to various reasons but Maud made the perfect start, from a Cooper cross Clark rose high to head home. Fyfe made a good save from McLeod before a Henderson shot came back off the crossbar. Dee then fired in 2 quick goals to turn the game in quick succession when a cross was headed into his own net by Clark then after a good save by Fyfe McLeod was first to react to tap in. Conway played a ball into the path of Duguid but his cross was just too hard for the inrushing Whyte to connect with at the back post. Dee were then awarded a penalty which Henderson converted then the same player saw his shot come back off the woodwork.
HT 3 – 1
The home side continued with goals in the second half when a through ball split the Maud defence leaving Philipson one on one with Fyfe and the forward made no mistake. Another through ball, this time Binnie added number 5 for Dee. Poor defending let in Philipson in and he rounded the keeper and fire into an empty net. A ball played over the Maud defence and Watt calmly lobbed the keeper from 12 yards for number 7. Fyfe made a fine save from a McLeod shot before Dee completed the scoring with a goal from substitute Robertson. This was a very poor performance from Maud and will need to play a lot better next week if they are to reach the last 4 of the Grill Cup.
