Maud travelled to face Inverness City in a league game and the visitors wasted a good chance after good lead up play by Duguid and Donnie. Fife made a good stop from a Rodgers shot. Young saved comfortably from a Smart header then from a Duguid snap shot. The home side then claimed for a Penalty which the official waived aside. The home side should have taken the lead but Rodgers headed wide from a McDonald cross. Smart went close with a neat turn and shot from 18 yards before the home side took the lead when a cross found McPhee unmarked at the back post and he had the simple job of tapping home. Maud hit back and a Smart knock down fell to Duguid whose shot brought a fine save from Young. Just on half time Rodgers blazed high from 6 yards.

At the start of the second half a half hit shot by Smart found its way into the Inverness net to level the score. A minute later the home side went back in front when a shot by Mason took a wicked deflection leaving keeper Fife stranded. A through ball which left McPhee yards offside but the officials waived play on but the winger shot wide of the goals with only Fife to beat. Maud levelled again when. Lawson header was parried by Young into the path of Smart who fired home. Fife came to the rescue of the away side making an excellent save from McPhee and minutes later the away side went in front for the first time when Smart netted his third of the game from a through ball from Duguid. Substitute Kerr went close with a header then keeper Fife tipped a curling corner over the bar. The final whistle went with the away side netting another 3 points in a hard fought win.
