Maud travelled to face Edinburgh United in the 3rd roundd of the Scottish Cup. A Wilson free kick was punched clear by Easton.A Duguid ball in was just too hard for the inrushing Davidson. Crisp shot was well held by Easton. Elliot had the ball in the net but was offside. Armstrong gave the home side the lead when he headed in at the back post fron a Hendrie corner. Hopkinson had only Fyfe to beat but scooped the ball high then Elliot somehow headed wide from 2 yards after great lead up play by Crane. Smart thought he had levelled the game but the ref ruled out a perfectly good goal.

Maud started the second half earning a free kick on the edge of the United box. Duguid bought a save from Easton. Whyte was caught out in defence giving away a pen which Auriemma converted. Good work by Wilson set up Davidson but couldnt keep his shot on target. A break away by the home side ended with Fyfe saving. Watson then bought a another fine save by Fyfe. A Whyte cross was met by the head of Davidson but Easton made a brilliant save. Maud were reduced to 10 men when Whyte reveived a second yellow. With Maud pushing forward Auriemma broke free but wasted a good chance firing wide. A Downie shot was saved by the legs of Easton. Maud did score through Downie after Wilson and Ritchie combined but it was the last kick of the match.
