Maud JFC are delighted to announce that midfielder Craig Ritchie has agreed and penned a three year contract extension with the club.
Manager Allan Hale said “I’m delighted that Craig has agreed to his contract extension in what was probably the easiest signing negotiations I have conducted as a manager. Craig is extremely committed to the club and is very much a key player to the club. When I became a manager Craig was my first ever signing and is a player who never lets you down with his performances. He is a very assured player in possession of the ball and is a player who has an excellent attitude within his training and performances. He still has areas of his game to improve and he is working hard on those sides of his game but he is an integral part of our squad and we are delighted to have him commit his long term future with the club.
Manager Allan Hale said “Sam approached me a couple of weeks ago and stated that the travel from his home in Newtonhill to Maud was becoming a burden on him and with his studies at University increasing he requested his release so that he could sign for his local amatuer club and reduce his travel. Despite wanting to keep Sam with us I had no hesitation in agreeing to his release as it allows Sam the opportunity to play regular football and find his enjoyment and confidence for the game again and his happiness is more important than retaining a player who is struggling with the travel. Sam is a player who possesses an excellent attitude for his football and despite the lengthly travel he had to endure he attended every training session and always trained to 100% of his ability. He suffered a knee injury early in the season and only recently returned to training where his game time was limited and that too was a factor in his decision. Sam was a very popular member of the squad and will be missed around the club however we all wish him the very best of luck at Newtonhill Amatuers and for his future endeavours. Finally I wish to thank Sam for his outstanding commitment to the football club and also wish to thank Paul Bain at Newtonhill Amatuers for his kind generosity in providing the football club with some training aids as means of compensation for Sam, this is very much appreciated from us all at Maud.”
Manager Allan Hale said “Firstly I wish to thank Fraserburgh FC manager Mark Cowie for allowing the deal to go ahead and I need to praise Joe for his eagerness to come to the club. Joe is a player we have worked with at Maud previously and as a former team mate at The Broch too we are aware of his qualities and he is a welcome addition to our squad. Joe’s signing allows me the opportunity to send our young goalkeeper Grant Stephen on loan for him to gain valuable match experience where Joe will come in and push current number one Rhys Fyfe for the jersey such is his quality so we are very happy to have him on board at the club and are sure it will be a strong addition for us throughout the loan duration.”
